چکیده
In the material handling business original equipment manufacturers, lift truck dealers and distributors find themselves marketing polyurethane and rubber tires simultaneously. To achieve optimum performance one needs to better understand the attributes of each product. In this article, both products will be broadly compared along with their proper application, with an emphasis on polyurethane tires. Some of the areas that will be discussed are: Rolling Resistance Cushioning Traction Load Capacity Wear and Abrasion Resistance Cutting / Tearing / Chunking High Speed Operation Floor Marking Wet Floor Conditions Chemical Resistance Price Attribute Chart

Tests of two new polyurethane foam wheelchair tires.
The performance characteristics of four 24-inch wheelchair tires are considered; one pneumatic and three airless. Specifically, two new airless polyurethane foam tires (circular and tapered cross-section) were compared to both a molded polyisoprene tire and a rubber pneumatic tire. Rolling resistance, coefficient of static friction, spring rate, tire roll-off, impact absorption, wear resistance...
متن کاملWheelchair tire rolling resistance and fatigue.
The hysteresis loss theory of rolling resistance is developed for solid rubber wheelchair tires. The analysis is used to correlate test data for a clay-filled natural rubber and a polyurethane tire material. A discussion of tire rolling work, hysteresis loss factor measurement, and rolling loss measurement is presented. An example calculation of rolling resistance for a polyurethane tire is giv...

Solid waste management is one of the major environmental concern in the United States. Over 5 billion tons of non-hazardous solid waste materials are generated in US each year. Out of which more than 273 million scrap tires (approximately 3.6 million tons) are generated each year. In addition to this, about 3 billion tires are stockpiled. Several studies have been carried out to reuse scrap tir...

متن کاملType Bonding Strength Modeling of Polyurethane to Vulcanized Rubber
Tires manufactured from polyurethane (PU) have been espoused recently for reduced hysteretic loss, but the material provides poor traction or poor wear resistance in the application, requiring inclusion of a traditional vulcanized rubber tread at the contact surface. The tread can be attached by adhesive methods after the PU body is cured, or the PU can be directly cured to reception sites on t...
